Conor Bierfeldt will be the first Colonial to mount the top player award on his mantle. The junior from Torrington, Conn. also made his debut on the All-Little East, first-team as an outfielder selection. Bierfeldt rewrote the Western Connecticut history book during his junior campaign, establishing a new single-season record for hits (61), triples (6), and runs batted in (50). According to the latest NCAA statistical report, he ranked among the Division III leaders in slugging percentage (3rd, .838), home runs (14th, 10), and runs batted in (16th, 50). Bierfeldt also led the conference in home runs, slugging percentage, and total bases (119), while ranking second in batting average (.430), doubles, and RBI. A starter in 36 of his 37 contests, he hit safely in 32 games. Bierfeldt feasted on Little East pitching, posting a .446 batting average (25-for-56) with 14 extra base hits—on 6 doubles and eight home runs—and 17 runs batted in. He enjoyed his most successful day at the plate in the first game of a doubleheader at Southern Maine on April 14, when Bierfeldt went 4-for-4 with a double and two home runs to drive in three. He also went 4-for-4 against Saint Joseph's College (L.I.) two days later. Bierfeldt recorded a season-high five runs batted in against Oneonta State on March 22. He was named the Little East Player of the Week twice on the season.
Senior second baseman Zack Dandrea with his 8 homers and 45 RBI's was named to the second team, along with All Time WestConn hits leader Mike Yates (outfield), and Senior Dave Simone(catcher) who batted .355 in two seasons with 71 hits. This is the second time under Coach Susi that the Colonials have posted 4 players on the All Conference squads.

WestConn season ends with split at Plymouth State

Game two victory leaves them 1 game out of playoffs/ Yates becomes All Time hits leader

Game one 7-5 loss to Plymouth State Saturday ended the Colonials hopes of a LEC tournament bid. Conor Bierfeldt had a double and a home run (his 10th) to lead WestConn, but it wasn't enough. Dave Alarcon took the loss in relief of starter Nick Vig who gave up 4 runs in 5 innings work. During game one Michael Yates became the All Time hits leader surpassing Sam McNeil's total of (173). Yates ended the day with 3 hits and the record now stands at (176).
Game two was all freshmen starter Alex Iannone. The lefty went 9 innings giving up only 5 hits and striking out 5 for the CG victory, his 3rd of the season. Chris Alberto lead the game off with a single, and Yates followed with his 5th homer of the season. That was all the offense the Colonials would need. Yates had 2 hits in the game.
